Catching Up...

Hello blog.  Been a while.  I suppose it's time for a massive update.  A lot has happened since I last posted.  Photo shoots, trips to foreign countries, oh, and this:

Yup, having a baby!  Ok, here's some other stuff that's happened.
A baby bump follow up of a baby with a pretty cool name.  Here's Alex:

Moving on from babies for a moment (I apologize, they're currently on my mind), Missio Dei, the new church I'm a part of, has officially launched!  We meet on Saturday nights @ 6pm inside Dardene Presbyterian Church.  For more info, and to see all the pictures from the launch event, check out http://missiodei.co/

Let's see...what else?...Oh yeah!  I went to Tanzania for a couple weeks.  Very interesting trip indeed.  Many unexpected things.  Ask me about it sometime.  Here's a few shots of some people i took, as well as a video summary of the trip.  Oh yeah, BTW, I can shoot video too!  Enjoy!

Baby Bumps

Here are some recent shots of some expectant couples.  The first set, featuring my bro-and-sis-in-law, were taken in the last five minutes of our family vacation, just before we left.  This was partly decided by the rainy weather.  Luckily, we were able to do these quickly, in between rains, using an off camera bare flash and reflector (held by my lovely wife).  In the second set of pics, I tried experimenting with some less conventional methods, abandoning sunlight and shooting in the dark at high ISO's.  I like how the last one came out.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt/Family Portraits

On Good Friday, Missio Dei, a new church in the area ( missiodei.co ) held an easter egg hunt in Boulevard Park.  Since I am helping with this church plant I documented the event with my camera.  Then a few days later I took some shots of the Pastor and his family.  Enjoy.

The pastor's wife Kelly painted this

This was taken just as people started to show up, there were several hundred people there by the end!

Josh McVicar (http://www.mctrickster.com) came and put on a magic show to distract kids while the eggs were hidden.

 He was a huge hit

There were over 3000 of these things

When the older kids went it was like a stampede.  The eggs were gone in minutes.

There was a cool UV tent where kids could get glow in the dark face paint

The popper didn't stop all night
Here are the pictures of our pastor and his family.  Some of my favorite people right here.

Senior Portraits - Parker

So here's my first crack at taking some senior portraits.  These shots were taken at Boulevard Park in LSL.  Used my trusty 70-200 f/2.8 and a Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 on the later ones.  I think I will use the 85mm a lot more from now on for single portraits.  I just love the textures and colors I get from it.  Here are a few that I like.  Enjoy.
